Makeup Monday

Hello Lovlies, and even though I'm way late, Happy New Year! I'm thinking of starting up a new series here on the blog dedicated to one of my favorite (and newfound) passions...makeup! Wayyy back in the day when I first started PSBA I did a few posts on makeup, and it was fun to do. And somewhat embarrassing since I was totally clueless haha! #awkwardphase

Now that I'm in my 30's I'm becoming more aware of how important it is to take care of my skin, and wanting to really be better with all things beauty in general. I'm still learning quite a bit (thanks YouTube!) so for today I'll be featuring a little haul from the past week.

I've become obsessed with makeup brushes, and have been on the hunt for good blending brushes. The IT Cosmetics #105 brush is great for blending out the crease with a transition color, but the cost is a little steep for my liking ($14). However, you get what you pay for in quality. So far I really like it! The Morphe E27 brush is along the same line as the previous brush. I haven't had a chance to use it yet since it just arrived in the mail today. I'm so excited to try it out since I see everyone raving about Morphe on YT, and Instagram. I'll let you know what've think, and I'm pretty sure it won't disappoint!

I've been on the oily skin struggle bus since middle school, and have always had large pores because of this. Primers help work wonders for all skin types, and this Benefit Porefessional helps minimize pores, and makeup stays in place. It's worked really well so far, and I have noticed a huge difference in my makeup not breaking up, or seeing as much shine come through. It doesn't feel greasy, and when applying foundation it goes on much smoother, and blends out better. I may have just found my holy grail of primers!

The Milani baked blush in Luminoso is a favorite amongst the YouTube beauty community, and I see why! It's pigmented  like crazy, but blends beautifully. For a drugstore blush it's definitely worth the $8, and a little goes such a long way. I'm tempted to test it as an eyeshadow since I like to experiment. I seriously can't get enough of this blush!

Last, but not least the Real Techniques Beauty Sponge works wonders on blending out foundation, and concealer. Plus it's less than half the cost of the Beauty Blender which is another plus to my wallet. I'm all about saving money (obviously)! I am a little biased since I've never used a Beauty Blender, but I haven't been able to bring myself to spend $20 on a sponge. **Disclaimer: the IT Cosmetics brush was purchased using a gift card so I didn't feel as guilty buying it LoL. Maybe one day I'll buy one, but for now I'll stick to my trusty orange sponge!

Hopefully this post wasn't too boring, and somewhat informative. I want to start incorporating more lifestyle/beauty posts into this blog again as a part of my plan to revamp it. I've been brainstorming about what I want out of this including a new name, and it's purpose. Don't be alarmed if it starts to look different, and don't worry I'll still be throwing in the occasional DIY/home decor posts too!

What are some of your favorite beauty products? Do you prefer high-end, or drugstore, or both? Let me know if you liked this post, and I'll continue to do them! Until next time...stay prudent my friends!!
