With all of this reflection has come more projects, and added items to my to-do/shopping list. I've learned that the look I want to achieve doesn't happen overnight. It takes time, patience, money, courage, and perseverance. Patience has never been kind to me, but I've realized this year that things take time to grow and evolve to what you want it to be in the end...including decorating a living space.
I get such joy out of sharing the little tidbits of my life on here, and am making it more of a goal rather than resolution to write/post more on a weekly basis. If I want this blog to become more successful I need to devote more time, and work harder. There are times I feel my content isn't relevant, or post-worthy, but nonetheless I'm proud of whatever I created or accomplished that day.
So that to-do/shopping list I spoke of earlier...basically I went thru each room to assess what I'm wanting to achieve with its' look. My only hesitation with this list is the possibility of moving into a new place. If you've been reading this blog for a while then you know we've been discussing moving some place new. We're aiming towards Spring! Anywho with my current love of neutrals I think I'll be okay with what I end up with.
- New sheets/duvet cover, etc.
- Add on last piece of picture vignette above the bed
- Paint dresser
- Add new hardware to dresser
- New laundry basket to replace old baskets
- Add curtains
- Couch slipcover
- Find more pieces for gallery wall above couch
- New media console (may DIY an old dresser)
- Add curtains
- New coffee table
- Update entryway
I'm only starting off with these two rooms since they are used the most often. As the year goes on, and progress is made I will focus on smaller projects/tasks for the other areas of the apartment pending on our move. The only other "big" task I have is to donate our existing kitchen table to Habitat ReStore, and get a smaller one (again size depends on new dining space). I'm sure as I go forward with this list new things will pop up, but at least this list is a starting point. It really doesn't seem like a whole lot, but the furniture pieces will eat up most of our budget. Luckily for me I can get some deals thanks to my workplace, and knock most of this stuff out. Obviously I will update along the way my progress!
Again I want to thank you for taking the time out of your day to read this. I know I don't reach a lot of people (which like I said I will be working on as part of my resolution to working on this blog more). However I really do appreciate that you've taken the time to stop by. Leave a comment, advice, suggestions, or whatever. Just nothing hateful please...only happy/constructive criticism! :)
I wish you all the very best for 2015, and that each and every one of you achieve what you want, and prosper while doing so!! :) And as always stay prudent my friends!!
